I currently serve as Chairman of Conley Rose, an intellectual property-centered law firm with offices in Houston and Plano, Texas and in Alexandria, Virginia.

My legal practice focuses on the representation of foreign and domestic entities, as well as individuals, in all aspects of intellectual property law including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and related agreements. I have experience advising and assisting clients in the acquisition, transfer, and enforcement of intellectual property rights, and defending against the intellectual property claims of others.

  • My patent practice includes U.S. and foreign patent application preparation and prosecution, clearance and freedom-to-operate analyses, non-infringement and invalidity opinions, patent landscaping analyses, patentability assessment and evaluation, technology and patent license agreements, infringement litigation, portfolio management, and counseling on U.S. and foreign patent matters. Although my experience spans the technology spectrum, I specialize in the mechanical arts, materials science, oil and gas drilling and production technologies, oilfield services technologies, offshore engineering and naval architecture, and medical devices.
  • My trademark practice includes counseling on the selection and use of marks, trademark prosecution, and infringement litigation.
  • My copyright practice includes counseling on copyrights and preparing work-made-for-hire agreements.
  • My intellectual property agreement practice includes confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements (stand alone and within the context of other agreements), assignments and license agreements, employment agreements, and counseling on same.

I am admitted to the State Bar of Texas and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, as well as registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
