Career OpportunitiesSenior Billing Administrator Our Dallas office is currently seeking an experienced accounting professional for the role of Senior Billing Administrator. Candidates should have at least five (5) years of experience in accounting work, preferably for a mid-size law firm. Position is responsible for completion of all aspects of monthly firm billing and account receivables processes, including: interacting with billing attorneys; invoice preparation and electronic invoice submissions; handling accounts receivables; maintaining Patent and Trademark Offices Deposit Accounts; directing the work of other billing professionals involved in the billing process; and report generation of accounting data as required for the billing and AR processes. Experience with accounting software and Excel is required, and experience with database and legal accounting software and time entry experience is desired. Critical skills for this position include detail oriented; self-directed management of time and tasks; ability to take ownership of and accomplish the identified process; ability to lead the work of and to collaborate with others; excellent communication skills both internally with attorneys and externally with clients; and a strong customer support orientation. Patent Attorney The ideal candidate should have a B.S. in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, computer science, aerospace, or physics, and have zero to four years experience in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the electrical, mechanical, chemical, computer science and/or telecommunication arts. The candidate should preferably be licensed in Texas and be registered with the U.S. Patent Office. Salary is competitive and commensurate with work experience. Technical Advisor/Patent Agent The Dallas office of Conley Rose, P.C. is currently seeking individuals with a technical degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, chemical engineering, computer science, or physics (BS, MS, or PhD) to assist with writing patent applications. Technical Advisors and Patent Agents are a significant part of many areas of our practice. Technical Advisors work closely with our attorneys, our clients, and our client’s inventors to prepare patent applications. Their expertise in a particular technology is a valuable resource to our attorneys and our clients. Our Technical Advisors and Patent Agents also have the opportunity to be exposed to other aspects of our practice such as litigation and opinion projects. The Technical Advisor/Patent Agent will be responsible for interviewing inventors, preparing patent applications, revising patent application based on client feedback, and generally becoming familiar with our clients’ technologies. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
•Patent Agents must be registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office •A professional attitude and superior work ethic •Excellent English reading, writing, and communication skills •Ability to quickly learn and retain both technical and legal instruction •Experience drafting patent applications is preferred, but not required
